Wesley College to host VH1's You Oughta Know - Artist on the Rise, SAFETYSUIT, in Concert
Dover, DE - On Saturday, April 10, 2010, Wesley College will play host to VH1's Top 20 Countdown Artist, SafetySuit (www.safetysuitmusic.com), in the Charles Dashiell Amphitheatre. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and the event will kick-off at 8:00 p.m. with local Philly band, Officer Roseland (www.officerroseland.com). The event is hosted by the Wesley College Office of Student Activities, Student Activities Board and Inter-Greek Council (IGC).
Tickets are now on sale at www.WesleyCollegeTickets.com or http://tickets.wesley.edu. Tickets are $10 for Wesley College students, $15 for students/military with ID and $25 for general public. Service fees may apply. A portion of the ticket sales will go toward IGC's Wishfest supporting Make-A-Wish Foundation. Additional donations to Make-A-Wish can be made online at the time of purchase.

For me this was a very easy question to answer and immediately, the name James Brown came across my lips. We all know (or should know) that he was, "the hardest working man in show biz" and the "god father of soul." Hopefully people also realize his importance to music beyond him being the opening musical act for Carl Weathers ring entrance in Rocky IV or the purveyor of "Sex Machine."
While all those things are true, James Brown is more than a tag-line or some piece of trivia in the Rocky saga. In my mind there is no doubt that his contributions to music were essential to its evolution and that the by-products of his influence not only echo in today's contemporary music but will continue to do so for as long as music exists.
